The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County is looking for passionate, energetic, creative Youth Development Professionals to join our organization. The "YDP" will be responsible for implementing and overseeing programs that promote the social, emotional, and educational development of our Club members. This role involves fostering positive relationships, providing mentorship, and creating a safe and supportive environment where young people can learn and grow.

This role involves fostering positive relationships, providing mentorship, and creating a safe and supportive environment where young people can learn and grow.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing programs and activities that align with the organization’s mission and goals. These programs include Academic Success, Creative Arts, Athletics & Fitness, Play-based Learning, and Life Skills & Leadership.
- Foster positive relationships with youth participants, families, and community members.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to youth, supporting their personal and academic growth.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during program hours.
- Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate events, field trips, and other program logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of program attendance, incidents, and participant progress.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding program updates and participant achievements.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Uphold organizational policies and procedures, including those related to safety, health, and behavior management.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements based on participant feedback and outcomes.
Qualifications and Characteristics Required
- Proven leadership ability.
- Experience working with youth in a formal or informal educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting youth development.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Must be 17 years or older
Additional Information
- Shift schedule: Monday - - Friday approximately 2:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M Additional hours allotted for special events, staff training and meetings.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments depending on program activities.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must list 3 references (non-family members).
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
