Frequently Asked Questions

What time is the Club office open?
  • The Club's administrative office is open M-F 10:00am-5:00pm. 
Where are the club programs held?
  • Club programs are hosted at the Club located at 1710 East Tom Green Street.  (Beside the Blue Bell Aquatic Center and between Brenham Middle School and the football field)

What are the club's school year hours?

  • During the school year, the Club is open to members from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Mondays through Friday.

What are the club's hours during the summer?

  • During the summer and non-traditional school holidays, the Club is open Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.

How much does it cost to become a member?

  • Youth ages 6  (attending 1st grade)to 18 may join the Club for an annual fee of $15 during registration months (January and August) and $25 during non-registration months.  Members may attend the Club any time the Club is open to members.
  • All members 6-7 year olds must provide the Club with a birth certificate for age verification.

What kinds of programs are taught?

  • Programs are offered in five core areas: (1)The Arts, (2)Education, Career & Technology Development, (3)Character & Leadership Development, (4) Health & Life Skills, (5)Sports & Fitness

How many kids attend the club?

  • Over 1200 area youth were Club members in 2007.  During the school year, an average of 185 youth attend the Club each day.  And, during the summer of 2007, nearly 250 youth visited the Club each day.
What are ID cards used for?
  • Member safety is important to all the staff of the Boys & Girls Club.  All members will be expected to wear their Club ID at all times while at the Club. Club ID's will be required of members to participate in activities in and outside the club during the school year and  during the summer.  This also includes snacks, members must have their card in order to get a snack.  If a member wants to play games and use our equipment, he/she must have their card in order to check out the games and equipment.  Their card also entitles them to receive 'power hour' points during homework hour.  These points earn them a chance to win a computer at the end of the school year and also to buy BGCWC goods.

What happens if a card is lost?

  • IF a member misplaces his/her ID, they can receive another one for $1.00.   They may also use their receipt for club priviledges until they get their card.  Members are encouraged to keep their ID's on them at all times.  Lanyards are also available to our members.
